Melchor Menor (aka “Coach Mel”) is a former two-time international Muay Thai champion and AO8′s resident master instructor and head trainer. He was the WKA Super Elite Class World Champion from 1994-1997 and the WMTF Muay Thai Champion 1997.
Coach Mel is an internationally respected and well-known celebrity trainer. He has over two decades of teaching and training experience and has been a personal trainer to hundreds of fitness clients. His diverse clientele includes concert pianists, professional race car drivers, radio personalities, and owners of multi-million dollar companies. He has trained high-profile professional athletes and Olympic gold medalists. Coach Mel has also worked with several actors in the movie and television industry. He has trained professional combat fighters that include WBC Muay Thai champions, K-1 fighters, Pride champions, Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu champions, and UFC Hall of Famers.
Coach Mel has also appeared on various TV programs, including Stan Lee’s Superhumans and was featured multiple times on Fight Science and National Geographic. More recently, he was an assistant coach for season fourteen of the UFC-produced reality television series The Ultimate Fighter. He also has recently completed filming a role (as himself) in a Kevin James movie titled Here Comes The Boom that is scheduled for worldwide release in Summer 2012.
